Privacy

Private by default, explained in plain English.

Cactus Index is built for collectors checking rare cactus markets and maintaining a private board. This page explains what we collect, why we collect it, and where the current launch product still has limits.

Account data

Signup uses email/password authentication through Supabase. We use your email for account access, confirmation, password recovery, and important account notices. We do not sell account emails.

Collection privacy

Your private board can include owned plants, grails, followed markets, notes, photos, provenance details, and price or value context. The launch product is designed to keep those rows account-scoped, not public marketplace inventory.

Submitted observations

Price checks, request-market submissions, and source tips may be reviewed so Cactus Index can improve market coverage. Accepted observations may inform public market signals, but raw personal details should stay out of public pricing displays.

Analytics

We may use basic product analytics and error logs to understand route health, search usage, signup flow health, and launch issues. Analytics should support product reliability, not expose an individual collector's private board.

Source labels

GBIF and LLIFLE help with taxonomy and identity context. Seller listings, community observations, and Cactus Index review decisions are separate market-data layers.

Contact path

For privacy or account questions during launch, use the support form. Requests land in the manual admin intake queue until a dedicated inbox or support tool is selected.
